On Saturday, August 13th, 2022, Kool Kolored Kid Generation (KKKG) hosted the best back to school sneaker give away 100 Pairs to Give Sneaker Campaign at Bancroft Elementary School in Wilmington, Delaware.Â
KKKG along with many sponsors, delivered on their objective to change the narrative through sneakers with their brand sneakers, global kid ones, high and low top custom sneakers, designed to empower and inspire today’s youth with the ability to create change in their communities.Â
Each flag on the sneaker represents some countries of people of color. The back-to-school sneaker giveaway at the Bancroft Elementary School provided students with brand new school supplies for the upcoming school year.Â
Not only did each student receive a free pair of sneakers, but KKKG partnered with Steppingstones Federal Credit Union and provided 100 touchscreen laptops that can turn into tablets.Â
Given that history and in preparation for the upcoming 100 Pairs to Give Sneaker Campaign 2.0, we are not just giving away 100 pairs of sneakers – it is a full day event to ignite, empower, and to motivate students for the upcoming school year and give back to our community. This event will be held on Saturday, August 19th, 2023 at William Penn High School in New Castle, Delaware.
We are igniting and inspiring so many students returning to school with this event. Education is paramount and post-pandemic the return to a building has required some adjusting. As a young entrepreneur who understands the challenge of attending school, we want to help young people recognize their ideas that can empower and inspire others. Showing them that sharing their talents and abilities, can create change and opportunities through collaboration.
On the day of the event, we will host a pre-event kickoff with music and over a dozen community resources in the gymnasium. Vendors generously will give away products and share information about their businesses and services, which can benefit all attendees. Also, we do some interactive games and give away prizes, which adds to the excitement between speakers, fostering connections among students.
Then, in the main auditorium, we will have celebrities who are Native Delawareans take the stage to share their story with the hopes of inspiring students and their families. On last year, we had Native Delawareans that included NBC’s America Son contestant Nitro Nitra, Neil Carr, actor from bounce TV, Saints and Sinners, and ABC’s Shark Tank contestant, Markevis Gideon from Nerdit NOW, and national Miss Juneteenth, Saniya Gay, dropped by to show her support.
One thing that Markevis Gideon mentioned was that he did not get the money on shark tank, yet it still ended up being a blessing because his business is now a multimillion-dollar company. Neil Carr encouraged the youth to think outside the box and never let anything stop them from going after what they want!
Every student looks forward to having a fresh pair of kicks, as the young people call them, which we know can add stress to parents at the start of every school year. Since we understand that stress, we have partnered with businesses to cater to their needs for the upcoming year. However, we cannot do it alone - we need your partnership to make a meaningful impact into the lives of our FUTURE LEADERS this 2023-2024 school year.
